About Practical Computer Services

Practical Computer Services is located in Lake County, just South of Lady Lake. We are centrally located and able to service the Tri-County areas of Lake, Marion and Sumter Counties, which include ALL of The Villages.

The CEO of Practical Computer Services has worked in the Computer Industry since 1987. He is certified in Computer Electronics Technologies, Business Software Applications, and Basic Consumer Electronics, and Computer Aided Drafting.

He is constantly studying and learning about new technologies even before they hit the market, so that he can stay up to date and provide his clients with the best and latest information.

The Villages and surrounding locals have enjoyed his services since 1998 resulting in uncountable satisfied clients and references. New clients are usually the results of “word of mouth.” This is something to be very proud of, because when a client provides a lead or tells someone to “give this guy a call a call,” it an affirmation that you are doing the right thing and the right way by providing needed, friendly and competent services.

Our major concern is to get your computer(s) up and running with as little down time as possible. We come to you so that you don’t have to lug your machine to a service center. Software issues are often the major cause of a system failure. It could be a virus, malware, or even spyware; or it could be simply a lost, deleted or conflicting driver issue. We are able to work out most software and hardware conflicts within a short time; and certainly less time that you would have spent taking your machine apart and lugging it to a shop, where you will have to leave it if they can not get to it right away, which is usually the case.

One area of expertise is our Tutoring Services. We believe that clients should know how to use their computers and how to take care of them with preventative, user end maintenance. Teaching our clients how to work out their own issues, if possible, before having to phone for a service call is one our our goals. In some cases we will assist the client on the phone or via Remot Assistance, if it is something that can be worked out within 10 to 15 minutes; many time as no extra charge. However, our Remote Assistance is only free for the first time use. Phone assistance over 10 minutes is billed accordingly.

We do not sit down at your computer and do all the work while you look over our shoulder, thinking you will grasp everything that is going on. We will show you once how to do something and then have you sit in your own chair at your own computer and guide you through, step by step, until you master the skills you want to learn. Not many of our competitors are willing to go that far, to give you your money’s worth for the services you are paying for.
